Social & Health

Our older friends in the community are extremely important to us and as such, we try our best to have as much social interaction as possible.  Sometimes this can take the form of a simple coffee morning, or other times it can be a good ole trad session!  Events vary so do please check with the centre as to what is happening on any given month.

As well as the general social aspect, we like to engage our older friends with programmes/events like ongoing education, health programmes and daytrips.


Generation Connected

Generation Connected is all about helping those of us who may be a little less technically savvy to get online and stay connected with friends and family.  This project can provide a tech device on a loan system to someone who may not have the means to get one, we will also provide training on how to use it and help you get online.

In 2022 we have 2 new projects rolling out, Elements and Generation Connected:

Elements for the Over 60s
 
Majella Canty of Energise Coaching and Personal Development aims to empower people to make healthy choices/decisions that are centred around 4 of the pillars of health: nutrition, physical health, emotional health, and our environment.

Elements is a 4 week programme which aims to empower and motivate people to make healthy choices/decisions with regard to nutrition, physical health, emotional health, and their environment.  The programme encourages people to focus on the present and enables participants to set goals to achieve better health outcomes.  Programmes are strengths and solution focused, where people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own health.
