Care & Repair
We operate a team of volunteers on our Care & Repair programme. The idea behind this programme is simple, sometimes there is a small job to be done in your home and you just cannot do it, our volunteers step in to help!
Tasks capable of being carried out by our Care and Repair team are many, but are limited to essential, non-electrical, small jobs only. Things like the replacement of a lightbulb or the installation of a carbon monoxide alarm. When you call our centre, we will guide you over the phone as to whether the role is one for our team or not. If it isn’t, we can give you a contact in Age Action whom will provide you with a ‘Trades Referral List’ populated with suitable professionals who can carry out the task at a cost.
Volunteers on this programme are few, so please ensure your task is one which cannot be carried out by a family member or neighbour.

- Free service for small household jobs to our over 60s residents
- Volunteers visit in pairs to conduct job (essential safety requirement)
- Volunteers will identify themselves upon arrival and have ID
- If a job is too big or requires expertise, a recommendation may be made to another service
